Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to work on projects related to impactful use-inspired interdisciplinary (from cell-to society) aging research in the thematic areas of high relevance to older adults, their families, healthcare and payment systems, communities, and policy makers: preventing and managing chronic conditions, enhancing active and purposeful living, and enabling aging in place in home and communities. Experience working with large national datasets is required and experience with mixed-methods research is desirable. The fellow will work with Dr. Rose Ann DiMaria-Ghalili and have the opportunity for mentorship and collaboration with other faculty at the College of Nursing and Health Professions and at Drexel University.

The fellow will be primarily responsible for conducting analyses and authoring publications for ongoing studies. They will have the opportunity to lead publications and develop their own research ideas. Fellows are mentored for leadership roles on interprofessional research teams. Fellows have access to faculty and college resources, are provided opportunities to publish, and are supported to conduct their own research including assistance with grant-writing or project planning for the next stage of their research careers. An individualized plan is developed to achieve the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to become a successful independent investigator.

Standard NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines apply. In addition, a travel to one professional conference will be provided. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Essential Functions

  • Research and dissemination
    • Design and conduct data analyses
    • Contribute to papers as lead or co-author
    • Develop stakeholder engagement and recruitment products
  • Study management
    • Assist with supervision of graduate students and undergraduate research assistants
    • Work with project manager to ensure data quality for ongoing studies
    • Assist with qualitative or quantitative database management, as needed
  • Grant-writing
    • Assist with developing funding applications for future studies

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or Doctorate in Nursing Science by June 30, 2023 or successful completion of oral dissertation defense
  • 1-2 years’ clinical experience as a geriatric nurse practitioner
  • Proficiency in SPSS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing data from national federally-funded datasets
  • Possess excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
