Adjunct positions are contracted on an hourly basis to support simulation- based education in undergraduate and graduate nursing.

Job Summary

The Adjunct Simulation Faculty member will support healthcare students by facilitating high-fidelity simulations, standardized patient encounters or virtual simulation experiences that enhance clinical reasoning, decision-making, and communication skills. This role involves collaboration with full-time faculty and simulation staff to deliver realistic, evidence-based scenarios aligned with course objectives and program outcomes. Hours will be varied and could include evenings and weekends.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate simulation-based learning experiences for nursing students using standardized patients, mannequins, and virtual platforms.
  • Collaborate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of simulation scenarios that reflect current clinical practice and meet curricular goals.
  • Provide structured debriefing sessions using evidence-based models (e.g., PEARLS, Debriefing with Good Judgement).
  • Assess student performance during simulations and provide formative feedback.
  • Maintain simulation lab standards, including equipment setup, safety protocols, and scenario fidelity.
  • Participate in orientation and training sessions related to simulation pedagogy and technology.
  • Support a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement, professionalism, and reflective practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing (MSN)
  • Current RN license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Familiarity with simulation technologies and debriefing techniques.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • CHSE Certified
  • Doctoral degree
  • Prior teaching or simulation experience.

  • University City, Philadelphia
  • Remote Simulations may also be included depending on the need
